Augmented (or Virtual) Reality
NEW in 2026
Augmented reality (AR) is a technology that enhances the real world with digital content, allowing users to interact with virtual objects and environments overlaid on the real world. Augmented reality activities can be a great way to engage children in STEM subjects and allow them to explore the possibilities of this exciting technology. Here are some AR activities our campers do:
Scavenger hunts: We create an AR scavenger hunt that challenges campers to find hidden digital objects or information in the real world.
Virtual tours: We use AR to create virtual tours of different locations. Campers can use an AR app to explore the location and learn about its history and significance in science. A popular example is International Space Station!
AR storytelling: We use AR to create interactive stories that campers can experience in the real world. They will use an AR app to follow a character through a story or interact with virtual objects and characters overlaid on the real world.
By using AR, campers can engage with technology in a fun and creative way while also learning about science, technology, engineering, and math.
