AP Computer Science A (ICS4U) Virtual-Live Course (2026-27)
Class Date: Thursdays October 8, 2026 - April 29, 2027
Class Time: 5:45 - 8:00 PM on Thursdays
No class on Winter Break (Dec 24 & Dec 31), March Break (Mar 18)
Ontario Credit Awarded: ICS4U (Ontario pre-requisite is ICS3U)
This course will briefly touch upon topics covered in computer science 12: ICS4U courses and fill in any gaps between the Ontario curriculum and AP expectations.
For students who are also enrolled in ICS4U, the proof of completion of ICS3U is required for the credit to be awarded.
There are interested students who have independently studied Computer Science and they feel they are ready to take on the challenge. They are then only awarded the AP credentials (not Ontario’s).
This course will be using the flipped classroom approach, as such videos and assignments will be assigned to be completed outside of the class sessions. During meeting times, we will focus on a question and answer format to best utilize the brief period of time collectively together.
The content, assignments, and assessments will be based upon the AP Course and Exam Description available in the AP Classroom website or here.
